Understanding Meridianville's Communities
A practical visual guide to Meridianville subdivisions and activity corridors, including established communities, new construction, golf, farmland and Flint River access.
Meridianville is not an incorporated city. It is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in northern Madison County. That matters because neighborhood names usually come from recorded subdivisions, builders, mailing addresses or local usage rather than municipal district boundaries.
This guide is not a ranking and does not direct anyone toward or away from an area. It compares housing form, landscape, nearby recreation and access patterns. Subdivision boundaries, utilities, septic or sewer service, school assignments, fire service, flood information and HOA obligations must be confirmed for each property.
1. Meridianville Core and U.S. 231/431
Area snapshot: The community's main commercial spine, with local services and direct north-south travel toward Huntsville and Hazel Green.
Meridianville developed along the historic north-south route now carried by U.S. 231/431. The corridor remains the primary location for everyday retail, restaurants and services, while residential streets and older homes extend to either side.
Access to the highway can be convenient but traffic patterns, turn movements and road noise differ by parcel. Confirm driveway access, planned road work, utilities and whether the property lies inside the Census-designated boundary, which is not the same as a municipal limit.
2. Colonial Pointe and Colonial Gardens
Area snapshot: Established and newer subdivision phases near Patterson Lane and the Colonial Golf Club side of Meridianville.
Colonial Pointe and Colonial Gardens occupy the western side of the Meridianville area near Patterson Lane. Streets are primarily suburban in form, with detached homes and multiple construction phases rather than a single build date.
The Colonial Golf Club at 400 Colonial Drive is a nearby public recreation anchor. Golf-course proximity does not automatically include membership, course access or protected views, so those items and any HOA provisions should be verified in writing.
3. Greenlawn Plantation and Greenlawn Estates
Area snapshot: Established subdivisions on the southern side of Meridianville with access toward Winchester Road and north Huntsville.
The Greenlawn communities represent an established suburban layer of Meridianville, with detached houses, curving streets and development phases that predate much of the area's current new construction.
Lot conditions, covenants and system ages can vary even within the same named community. Buyers should review the recorded subdivision, HOA status, roof and mechanical ages, drainage and utility provider for the exact address.
4. Bermuda Lakes and Briercreek
Area snapshot: Newer subdivision construction with lakes or water features in parts of the area and access to the northern commercial corridor.
Bermuda Lakes and Briercreek are among Meridianville's recognizable newer-home communities. Development occurs in phases, so streets can contain completed homes, active construction and future lots at the same time.
A lake or pond shown on a plan may serve stormwater functions and may not provide recreation rights. Confirm ownership, maintenance, flood mapping, construction completion, builder warranty, HOA turnover and any future phase plan before relying on a visual feature.
5. Mullins Bend and the Flint River Side
Area snapshot: Residential pockets closer to open land and the Flint River watershed on the eastern side of the community.
Mullins Bend and nearby roads sit toward Meridianville's more open eastern side. The landscape can shift quickly from subdivision streets to fields, creeks and larger parcels.
Outdoor Alabama identifies the Flint River as navigable water with access at certain public road rights-of-way, but a nearby subdivision does not guarantee private river access. Verify legal access, floodplain, drainage, bridge routes and emergency-service travel for the property.
6. Walker's Hill
Area snapshot: Active new-home community near Walker Lane, with multiple plans and continuing construction.
Walker's Hill is part of Meridianville's current wave of planned new-home development. The community includes detached homes and several floor-plan options, with the streetscape changing as phases are completed.
Compare base price with the actual finished home, lot premium, incentives, lender terms, warranty, HOA documents and projected completion around the lot. Sandra can represent a buyer in new construction even when the builder has an on-site sales team.
7. Lynn Meadows
Area snapshot: Newer detached-home community in the northern part of Meridianville, with phased building activity.
Lynn Meadows is another active new-home community in the 35759 area. Its housing is newer and more standardized in age than Meridianville's older subdivisions, though lots, elevation and included finishes still differ.
Walk the specific lot before signing. Review drainage paths, rear-lot conditions, easements, neighboring phase plans, builder specifications and the timing of roads and common-area completion.
8. Parkside, Kendallwood and Brierfield Area
Area snapshot: A cluster of newer and developing communities with different builders, lot patterns and amenity packages.
Parkside, Kendallwood and the Brierfield communities illustrate how quickly Meridianville is adding new subdivision choices. The names may sit close together on a map but can have different builders, price structures, covenants and completion schedules.
Treat each phase as its own comparison. Verify what is included, whether amenities are complete, HOA control and dues, road acceptance, utility service and any special assessments or development agreements.
9. Moores Mill Road and the Rural Edge
Area snapshot: Fields, larger parcels and seasonal agritourism, with road connections toward New Market and Sharon Johnston Park.
The Moores Mill Road side preserves a visible agricultural character even as nearby residential construction expands. Tate Farms is a long-running seasonal pumpkin farm and agritainment destination that draws additional fall traffic.
Properties outside subdivisions can have different considerations: septic systems, wells or water districts, road frontage, agricultural activity, utility easements and longer distances to services. Sharon Johnston Park is a regional recreation option near New Market, not a Meridianville neighborhood amenity.
How to compare Meridianville areas
In Meridianville, the exact parcel matters more than the mailing label. Compare subdivision age, construction status, road access, utilities, septic or sewer, flood and drainage conditions, HOA documents and county services. Drive U.S. 231/431 and the east-west routes during the hours you expect to travel.
